HomeCOMMUNISMWHAT THE ‘K-FACTOR’ MEANS

BEHIND THE NEWS MARCH 1979

The ‘K-Factor’ stands for all those consequences, sometimes comic, more often tragic, which result when the Black man is drawn into the White man’s world of lies.
The K-factor stand for what happens to the Black man when he allows himself to be used to sub serve purposes which have to do only with the White man’s power-purposes and have nothing whatever to do with the Black man’s own vital interests.
The K-Factor is what results when the Black man has been robbed of a cultural heritage, an increment of association spanning millennia, which once gave integrity to his personality and viability to his institutions.
When Black children go on the rampage, destroy their school buildings and send their teachers fleeing for their lives (something that happens again and again all over Africa), that is the African Negro trying to be true to himself. The rectilinear abstract education supplied inside those rectilinear school buildings, all products of a profoundly White mind, is a suffocating, stupefying lie from which the Black man struggles blindly and mindlessly to free himself.
It was not the stupidity of the Black man that resulted last month in the murder of a harmless White farmer near Lusaka and the shooting down of two Zambian planes by Zambia’s own terrorist guest – no, it was the cupidity and cruelty of Whites who put those Blacks in a situation of intolerable confusion and tension where they no longer knew friend from foe.
By none has the Black man so poisonously defamed as by those who pretend to be his friends – the Western liberals and those who use the liberals, They defame and degrade him by persuading him (and the world) that nothing the Black man ever produced as an answer to the challenge of an African environment is of any value whatever; that to attain the stature of a human being he must obliterate his own African identity and take on another to be prescribed for him by the White man.
Africa’s traditional chiefs and their counsellors were wise and shrewd men by any standards. The Black puppets by which they have been replaced are, by turn, clowns, fools and gruesome tyrants.
And, in the Ciskei, one of South Africa’s semi-self-governing Black states, we saw last month the K-Factor in reverse – White men making a disgusting spectacle of themselves as they tried to assimilate themselves to the Blacks, again, of course, for purely sordid purposes: Two White men, one of them the manager of the Ciskei National Development Corporation and the other secretary of the Chief Minister’s Department, took part in an ox-spearing ceremony, drawing from the unfortunate beasts bellowing cries, which “proved that they were acceptable to the Ciskei nation as counsellors”.
So now we shall have to write about the “WK-Factor”, as well – what happens to the White man he betrays himself in the process of betraying the Blacks.

DARKEST AFRICA
“Independent” Black states emerged on all hands, and in all of them the politician with the most guns shouldered his way to the front and took over, to be thrust aside a little later by another of the same kind….. The tale of carnage and chaos will never be told: it followed the same pattern everywhere, and the world was indifferent to it anyway. Darkest Africa was back. – Douglas Reed, THE GRAND DESIGN

The world may hate him who dares to scrutinize and expose – to rase the gilding, and show base metal under it – to penetrate the sepulcher and reveal charnel relics: but hate as it will, it is indebted to him. CHARLOTTE BRONTE, Preface to “Jane Eyre’
